One Surprisingly Effective way to decorate the tree

I got out our Christmas tree for the year. It is a five foot, artificial tree, but it fills the space in our apartment quite nicely. It only has three segments, and it goes together very quickly. Each year, I get out the same tree, so that saves both time and money.

The next thing I did was make sure that the lights all worked. And they did! So, that made it easier on my part too. I strung the lights around the tree around the tree.

One year, I experimented with wrapping the lights up and down the tree, and that did not look very good. It looks WAY better, in my opinion, to wrap the lights around the tree, so they are horizontal. Ribbon or garland can be criss-crossed around that so the ribbon or garland goes vertical or at an angle.

Gifted or DIY ornaments

Last but certainly not least is to put the ornaments on the tree. One surprisingly effective way to decorate the tree is to never purchase ornaments. I know it’s a weird tip, but that’s how my tree is decorated. The ornaments on my tree were all given to me or my husband. We either made them, or were gifted them. It saves and has saved us a lot of money! The ornaments are both ugly and pretty. And our tree is FULL of beauty and is so cheerful. 🙂

Processing…
Success! You're on the list.

All together, our ornaments are a combination of love, cheer, and joy.

One ornament that I don’t have is a pickle ornament, though. And that ornament is something that I don’t understand the tradition of. Oh well. Christmas and tree decorating are all fun ways to decorate and enjoy the holiday season.

  1. Tgese are some great tips. We always have a real tree, but I do agree that reusing an artificial one would save money. Most of our decorations have been in our family for years and still in great condition. I honestly can’t remember the last we bought new ones. Another idea would be to make handmade decorations. 🙂
