J.R.R. Tolkien said it best in The Hobbit, “Not all those who wander are lost.”
Yesterday, I got lost in watching the Lord of the Rings series (to celebrate J.R.R. Tolkien’s birthday!!!) where Frodo has to go on his mission to return the ring. It is challenging, but he has people (or should I say hobbits, elves, wizards, etc.) to help him on the journey.
Each time I watch the series, I find something new to take from it, and this time was no different. It seemed as if I really understood Frodo’s struggle, where he was not understanding why he was the one chosen to bring the ring to the mountain. Frodo didn’t put himself into the position of being the ring bearer, he was given the position and he held it. But, alas, he knew that it was part of what he had to do.
His unexpected journey had him lost for a few moments, but he got back on track and refocused on his mission. Gandalf really helped him out a lot on the mission!
Carrying the little ring is a big task, and it is a mission not to be taken lightly.
Are you a fan of the LOTR series?
